About the UT Austin GPA Scale

The University of Texas at Austin uses a standard 4.0 GPA scale with full plus/minus grades in 0.3-step increments. A+ and A both carry 4.0 grade points — the A+ is a transcript distinction only.

UT also offers the CR/NC (Credit/No Credit) option. CR/NC courses earn credit but no grade points and are excluded from GPA. Students in good standing may take up to 20% of their degree coursework CR/NC.
