Why there is no single correct answer
Grading scales differ not only between countries but between institutions within the same country. A "percentage" at one Chinese university may be calculated differently at another; an Australian 7-point scale has different descriptors per state. How do I convert my percentage to a 4.0 GPA?+

There is no official universal standard, so always confirm with the university or credential evaluation agency (such as WES) you are applying to.
Can I convert a 7-point GPA (Australian system) to 4.0?+
Yes. We use a linear reference conversion: GPA = score × 4/7 (7 = High Distinction → 4.0, 5 = Credit → ~2.9). Australian universities usually review your original transcript and many do not convert grades themselves, so treat any 7-to-4 conversion as a rough reference only.
