Privacy & quality details
Privacy. The tool uses pdf-lib to embed images into PDF containers and the Canvas API to render PDF pages as images. Both run locally in your browser — your files never touch a server. Disconnect from the internet once the page loads and the tool still works.
Quality. Image → PDF embeds images at their native resolution with no re-encoding, so there's no quality loss. PDF → Image renders each page at the resolution you choose (1.5× default, up to 4×). For text-heavy PDFs, 1.5× is sufficient; for detailed images or printed output, 2×–3× produces noticeably sharper results.
FAQ
Which formats are supported?+
PDF to image: PDF → JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, BMP. Image to PDF: JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, TIFF, BMP, GIF → PDF. All processing happens in your browser — files never leave your device.
Is this converter private?+
Yes. Files are processed entirely in your browser using pdf-lib and the Canvas API. Nothing is uploaded to any server, no logs are stored, no account is required. Disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool still works.
Will image quality degrade?+
For PDF → Image, you choose the resolution (default 1.5×, up to 4×). Higher values give sharper images and larger files. For Image → PDF, each image is embedded at its native resolution — no re-encoding or quality loss.
What resolution should I use?+
1.5× (default) is good for text and screenshots. Use 2×–3× for detailed images or printed output. Use 4× for high-DPI displays or when you need to zoom in.
Can I convert multiple images to one PDF?+
Yes. Drop all images onto the dropzone — they're merged in the order you added them. Each image becomes one page. You can also add a single image, which produces a single-page PDF.
Does the tool add a watermark?+
No. The output is clean — no watermark, no logo, no metadata. The PDF metadata (title, author) is left empty.
Are HEIC files from iPhone supported?+
Yes, modern browsers (Safari 17+, Chrome 121+, Edge 121+) can decode HEIC natively. If your browser doesn't support HEIC, convert the file to JPG first using your iPhone or a HEIC-to-JPG tool.
Will text be searchable in the output?+
For Image → PDF: no, the output is image-only (each page is a single image). For PDF → Image: the source PDF's text content is not extracted — pages are rendered as raster images. Use an OCR tool if you need searchable text.
