Score

How it works: score % = (right ÷ total) × 100. Letter grades use the standard scale — A (90%+), B (80–89%), C (70–79%), D (60–69%), F (below 60%). Adjust for your school's pass mark if different.

Frequently asked questions

How does an easy grader work?+

Enter the total number of questions on the test and the number wrong (or right). The grader calculates your score as (questions right ÷ total questions) × 100 and maps it to a letter grade using the standard scale: 90%+ = A, 80–89% = B, 70–79% = C, 60–69% = D, below 60% = F.

What letter grade is 80%?+

80% is a B on the standard scale (80–89%). With a 100-question test that means 80 correct; with a 50-question test, 40 correct.

How many questions do I need right to pass?+

If passing is 60%, you need 60% of the questions correct (e.g., 30 of 50, or 60 of 100). If your school requires 70% to pass, you need 70% correct (e.g., 35 of 50). Use the calculator to try different totals.

Can I enter the number right instead of wrong?+

Yes — toggle the input mode. The calculator accepts either questions wrong or questions right and always shows both in the result.

Does this work for tests with any number of questions?+

Yes, any size from a 5-question quiz to a 200-question exam. The percentage is always (right ÷ total) × 100, and the letter grade follows the same scale.

What is a C grade in percentage?+

A C is 70–79% on the standard scale. In many grading systems a C is a passing grade but below average; some schools use a C- (70–72%) boundary within that range.
