How USyd WAM is calculated

USyd WAM is the credit-weighted average of your actual numeric marks. The formula is:

WAM = sum of (mark × credit points) ÷ sum of credit points

Each course contributes mark × credit points to the numerator. USyd courses are typically 6 credit points. Failed courses (FA, below 50%) are fully included in the calculation. USyd also calculates CSAM (Cross-Semester Average Mark) over a block of at least 48 credit points (roughly 3 semesters).
